Caleb Murray is a Photographer based out of Minneapolis, Minnesota.

Raised by parents who both graduated with art degrees, Caleb was always encouraged to follow his artistic endeavors. He learned construction and woodworking from his father, and fine-tuned his drawing capabilities with help from his mother. However, it was his sister who introduced him to his true passion – photography.

Caleb’s sister set him up with his first camera, a hand-me-down that had gotten her through her own art degree. With some lessons from big sister under his belt, Caleb soon realized that photography was his passion. In the early days of his photography journey, he spent countless mornings among the cedar trees on the shores of Lake Superior with hopes of catching the perfect sunrise.

Caleb’s photography career began to take off after he joined the Rice Lake Volunteer Fire Department in Duluth, MN, as a volunteer firefighter. He was enlisted in photographing their training nights and creating marketing content for department events and hiring drives. From there, others began to inquire with him about family shoots, head shots, and weddings.

Shortly after Caleb began receiving these inquiries, he and his wife, Laura, decided to start Cedar Grove Photography, amongst the small grove of cedar trees they had just planted in the backyard.
